The first thing to look at is obviously true, what color your hair is to begin with. You see, the lighter your hair in the first place is easy to dye it blond. There is less color pigment to disarm themselves, so the products have an easier time working on the hair.
If your hair is REALLY dark, natural or not, then you can face the uphill battle will be blonde. I must be honest and recommend that if you are really dark, then you find this adivce. You do not want to damage your hair completely.
Also caution should be told if you just dyed your hair red. Again, be careful and it is advisable to wait at least a month after that if you are considering bleaching your hair.
So you see, only occasionally are the advantages of being boring mousy brown color. On the other hand, if your hair is dark blond color you can go with a special dye to brighten blonde hair only. Schwarzkopf perform a variety of colors 'Nordic' and several other similar brands, so you might be better to give this a go.
Condition?
Ideally, your hair must be in good condition before starting the 'going blonde' route. If you even vaguely remember is the time to start taking extra special care of your hair BEFORE you slap on the dye.

It is important to remember to use pre-lightener is that you do not want to miss the obvious 'patchy' areas darker or more red than others. You aim for a nice even base for your blonde color and base color is evenly distributed evenly as a whole.

If you use a semi-permanent dyes after that, I would wholeheartedly recommend this, then your choices are not limited to experiment with different shades of blonde, so you can play around with them and see what fits. Then if you decide to put a permanent dye you know exactly what shade you want.
Nuance goes all the way round from the 'platinum' the whitest blond like Marilyn Monroe, for a warmer color and 'gold' is Rachel Hunter, for 'strawberry' blonde almost light red. 'whiteish / gray' The more shades of blond are collectively known blonde 'ash' as.

He / She can help to apply the product to the 'complicated' area ... and they also can let you know how it happens in bits you can not see. Moral support if you begin to falter after a pre-lightener has been on a good 30 minutes (no turning back now) and the hair began to change color 'carrot soup' nice, always nice to have!
